Our Story
Beechworth Coffee Roasters is now proudly owned and operated by Karla & Angus Florance, building on the strong foundation established by former owner Ben Ryder.
Ben created a roastery known for its small-batch, custom roasting and for making history as the only small-batch roaster in Australia to win medals at the Golden Bean competition seven years in a row. His motto - “Serious Not Snobbish” - still guides our approach to coffee.
Since taking over, we’ve kept the same commitment to quality, roasting fresh coffee every week in our Beechworth roastery. We roast using our senses - sight, smell, and sound - to ensure each batch is roasted to perfection.
Our mission is simple: to share exceptional coffee with our community and beyond, while keeping the experience welcoming and approachable. We believe great coffee should be enjoyed by everyone, whether you’re pulling a shot on a high-end espresso machine or brewing a simple plunger at home.
